Community Pool Update

Dear Residents:

The Board of Directors and Spectrum are monitoring the governor's orders and the actions of the City of Schertz to determine when it is appropriate to open your pool. As of Monday, May 18, as was announced in a previous order, pools can be opened with several provisions:

-Pools can open with up to 25% occupancy.
-Individuals should avoid being in groups over 10 people.
-Must maintain 6 feet of separation between individuals where feasible.
-Avoid sharing common objects.
-Individuals should self-screen before going to the pool.

There are very clear directions provided where the pool is staffed to monitor the number of people and manage the occupancy requirement; however, absent the on-site staff, the directions are far more ambiguous.

Additionally, we cannot legally open the pool without an accessible restroom and HOURLY sanitation of these facilities is required while the pool is open. The association is currently evaluating the options available to us and the cost associated with them to determine how we can open the pool safely and following these orders.

Please understand that if these regulations are not followed and, for example, the 25% occupancy standard is exceeded or proper sanitation is not present and this came to the attention of authorities, the pool could be shut down and the association fined.

We understand how important this is to the members of our association and ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this complex issue. We will ask our partners at Spectrum to provide an update weekly until this is resolved.
